Since Monday, March 26, a supermarket in Beijing's Xinjiekou area has
offered English translations on its commodity signs, as well as its
notices.

A manager from the supermarket says that, as more and more foreigners are
moving in the neighboring residential areas, they have decided to
introduce bilingual services in their store, to prevent confusion among
their customers.

A series of English training courses have been provided within the retail
industry in recent years. However, this is the first bilingual
supermarket in the Chinese capital to have been opened by a Chinese
investor.
