On a sunny weekend, you and your lover soak yourselves in a steaming hot
spring, cups of hot sake in your hands, and a view over snow-capped
mountains. With the emergence of more than 10 hot spring resorts in
Beijing, that scenario is now a reality.

Hot spring resorts are a much more romantic variation on Beijing's
bathhouses. Most of these are located in the suburbs Chaoyang, Daxing,
Changping and Shunyi districts.

It some ways, these places are similar they all offer hot spring bathing,
either in public areas, or private venues. Most of the places provide
massage services, convention halls, boarding, food and performances.

These resorts attempt to be different. For example, Tianlongyuan resort
has the biggest indoor public hot spring bathing area in Beijing.
Chunhuiyuan is equipped with the most number of private rooms and hotel
rooms with hot spring facilities. Ludejin has the biggest greenhouse area
and the biggest auditorium. Flower Bay has the only naturally magnetized
hot spring in Beijing. Longxi Shunjing combines golf with hot springs.

Below we list some of Beijing's best hot springs

Tianlongyuan Hot Spring Resort

The hot spring at this resort is 1,916 meters underground. It has the
biggest indoor public bathing area, with 2,000 square meters of hot
spring area, and 600 square meters for swimming.

As one enters, you go to the men's or women's changing rooms, and then
step out into the same indoor area. It includes an imitation beach and
wave machine.

There are a number of small hot spring ponds with signs indicating
particular treatment functions. There is also a water slide and kid's
area.

Massages on offer include foot massage, full-body massage, either in
public or in private rooms for an extra fee.

The resort has its own teahouse, KTV bar, snack bar, beer bar, and
Chinese restaurant.

A performance that starts at 8pm and lasts an hour is one of the biggest
attractions. The performance uses the same bathing area and the stage is
almost as big as one you would find in a stadium. Male and female
performers from Russia and China stage a high-level performance of figure
skating, acrobatics and Moulin Rouge-style dances, plus some performances
with a Chinese traditional twist.

Entrance costs 158 yuan, covering hot spring bathing, medical spring
bathing, sauna, shower, surfing, swimming, and evening performance.

Location: West of Dengzhuangcun, Changping District. 300 meters to the
west of Xiguan traffic isle of Changping, Exit 13C on Badaling Expressway.
